We are pleased to announce the new publication of the 5th edition of MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP STATISTICS EXAMINATION, an invaluable resource for your students as they prepare for the exam. The fifth edition has been updated to reflect the AP Statistics Course and Exam Description (CED) and new Curriculum Framework, which were recently published by the College Board. The fifth edition includes five sample examinations, each with 40 multiple-choice questions and 6 free-response questions (including an investigative task) which match the rigor of the AP Statistics exam. Two of the exams consist entirely of brand new questions that were developed to mirror the format and content in the CED. The other three exams were edited slightly from the fourth edition in order to incorporate the new Curriculum Framework and CED. A new chapter in the fifth edition entitled Content Overview and Tips for the AP Statistics Exam" replaces Top Tips" from the fourth edition, and is divided into three parts. The first part includes general information on the content areas, skill categories, exam format, and scoring. The second part gives some general advice, exam day tips and notes, an updated formula sheet and tables, and strategies for both the multiple-choice and free-response sections. The third part gives a content overview of the curriculum that includes important tips" for each content area. In addition to the five sample exams, there is a Review Exercises chapter covering all content areas. By practicing with these exercises in class, for homework, or as part of their exam preparation, students can achieve comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all content areas of AP Statistics. In addition to the Using the TI-Nspire on the AP Statistics Examination" chapter (by Heather Overstreet), the fifth edition includes a new chapter entitled TI-84 Statistical Functionality Reference for AP Statistics." In this chapter, step-by-step directions are provided for all TI-84 statistical functions needed for the AP exam, including screenshots and keystrokes. There is sufficient space for students to write solutions in the review book for each question (multiple-choice and free-response), and a multiple-choice index in the back of the book cross-references the questions with content areas. Separate student Answer Keys for the multiple-choice questions and abbreviated solutions for the free-response questions are included with each review book. Also available for your students is a STUDENT'S SOLUTIONS MANUAL TO ACCOMPANY MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP STATISTICS EXAMINATION which provides step-by-step solutions for all of the multiple-choice and free-response questions in the review book. Instructions for graphing calculator use (TI-83, TI-84, and TI-Nspire) are included where applicable. In many cases, the incorrect multiple-choice answers are also examined, so students can learn to avoid common mistakes.
