We are pleased to announce the new publication of the 1st edition of the MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP PRECALCULUS EXAMINATION.

The first edition of the MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP PRECALCULUS EXAMINATION is a superb resource to provide students practice for the AP Exam. The question book is made up of three full sample examinations each including 42 multiple-choice questions and 4 free-response questions. These are appropriately divided into non-calculator and calculator active sections to mimic the actual exam.  It reflects the current AP Precalculus Course and Exam Description and the most recent changes in the AP exam format. In addition to the sample exams, the question book includes 75 supplemental multiple-choice questions for each of the three units of content, purposely divided by unit.  This allows teachers to assign targeted practice when reviewing or throughout the year. In addition, the book has ample workspace for students to work out each problem (multiple-choice and free-response), and a separate Answer Key for the multiple-choice and free-response section of each sample exam and for the 225 additional unit multiple-choice questions.

The question book begins with a section titled “Top Tips” as a quick reference of valuable information for the exam.  This section includes information on the format of the exam including tips for multiple-choice questions and the four free-response task models.  Also available in this section is help for technology use on the AP exam.  Finally, there is a list of items that a student should know “Like the back of your hand” as a quick reference and reminder of those hot topics.

In addition, available for your students is a STUDENT'S SOLUTIONS MANUAL TO ACCOMPANY MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND FREE-RESPONSE QUESTIONS IN PREPARATION FOR THE AP PRECALCULUS EXAMINATION. It provides a step-by-step solution for each problem (multiple-choice and free-response) in the question book. In many cases, the incorrect answers are also examined, so students can learn to avoid common pitfalls. This book is an excellent tool for learning by deepening the understanding of the AP Precalculus question types.

Dorothy Rich is the Mathematics Department Chair at The Heritage School in Newnan, Georgia where she has taught all levels of 5th -12th mathematics in her over 35 year career. Beginning in 2015, Dorothy served as an AP Reader for AP Statistics and as an AP Mentor in the Rural Georgia AP STEM Initiative. She was among the first group of College Board consultants for the launch of the AP Precalculus course. At the inaugural AP Precalculus Reading, she served as a Table Leader and organized the course’s first Best Practices Night. She was named a Master Teacher by the Georgia Independent School Association, as part of the inaugural class recognized for excellence in teaching and leadership.
